Odisha lose in semifinals of Cricket Nationals for Blind

Last two years’ runners-up Odisha crashed out in the semifinals of the 22nd National Cricket Championship for the Blind, losing to Gujarat by 92 runs at Gurgaon in Delhi today. Led by Mohammad Jafar Iqbal, Odisha reached the last-four stage with one defeat and two wins in Group B league. After losing their opening match against Hayana by eight wickets, Odisha thrashed Karnataka and Rajasthan by six and nine wickets respectively.

Dec 18: Karnataka 167/6 in 20 overs (Prakash Jayaramaya 50, Sunil 49; Jafar Iqbal 3 wkts) lost to Odisha 168/4 in 15 overs (Sukhram Majhi 56, Lingaraj Routray 40; Sekhar Nayak 2 wkts) by 6 wkts.
Dec 19: Rajasthan 102/10 in 19.5 overs (Nakula Badnayak 3/8, Ramachandra Hansda 2/19) lost to Odisha 103/1 in 12.2 overs (Sukharam Majhi 42, Nakula Badnayak 29) by 9 wkts.
Dec 20 (Semifinals): Gujarat 234/5 in 20 overs (Ketan Patel 68, Hitesh Patel 52, Ganesh Busara 51) beat Odisha 142/5 in 20 overs (Sukhram Majhi 80 n.o) by 92 runs.
